E-Poetry Writers is a poetry group that exists entirely in the ether. Anne and Frances started the group in August 2006 and it has flourished ever since. The spirit of the group is always one of friendly encouragement.

We are a group of people united by a common interest in writing and reading poetry. Currently, there is a diverse range of poets in terms of age, time available for writing and writing style.

The rules are very simple: at the beginning of each month the administrator, Anne, invites the members of the group to write a poem on a theme, topic or idea. The tasks are set by a different group member each month.

The administrator sends a gentle reminder about a week before the end of the month. Then, at the end of the month, all poems are sent to the administrator who archives them and sends them round to the others for them to read and enjoy.

Poets in the group are encouraged to make comments on the writing of their poems and ask questions of the other poets using the forum.

One of the secrets of the group’s sustained existence is that no pressure is exerted to write a poem every month and there is no need to make excuses for not completing a task.
