Britain seen from the North Written for the June Year 3 topic of "Music"

Man of tight, plastic smallness
Displaying the detritus
Of mass media lives.
The Mighty Quinn lies
Like a cracked LP record
With other bits and pieces

Dedicated to his kicks and kinks.
Trying to catch a falling star
Before it shatters
In a spray of orange plastic
This man’s pocket
Emptied onto a gallery wall.

Don’t rubbish his dreams.
