Medusa and the Mirror - a bastard Ghazal Written for the February Year 3 topic of "Mirror"

At first when Medusa wondered in her mirror
Medusa combing radiant hair passively stared back.

Reflect in the silver

Adam, eyes wide shut felt only serpents stir
brushing every braid and coil of Eve’s soft hair back.

Reflect in the silver shield

Her radiant coils pillowed against the marble floor
Mirrored passive in his eyes; writhing above her; glaring back.

Reflect in the silver shield of the mirror

Mirror light like moon shine reflects before it time past.
Only the image of what is in present time stares back.

Reflect, in the silver shield of her mirror which she holds towards him,
on her radiance.
