The Tragedy of Central Europe
Written for the February Year 2 topic of "Poetry Sculpture"
Eastern Europe
The cold war
The Eastern Bloc
The lands east of the Elbe:
Central Europe -
Kidnapped from
The West
On the periphery
Of the West
Due
To
Late
Migration
Catching up
In order to survive
More or Less
Incomplete;
Judged
By Western Standards;
Akin
To Western Neighbours;
Central Europe -
Consciousness
Potential
Aspiration
And the sharp
distinction
with
The East and South East
As less European
Asia begins at the gates of Vienna
Central Europe -
A Central Europe where
Integration
With
Western European Civilisation has been
Accepted
Affirmed
Acknowledged
Central Europe.
Millenium in Central Europe. A History of Hungary.
