Lissadell Written for the August Year 5 topic of "Location associated with a literary figure"

In Lissadell, near where Yeats did dwell
A thunderous roar fell upon a sunset stage
As Yeats and Cohen did have a tale to tell
Within this now Golden age.

All along the windswept hills,
Did song and rhyme carry forth
Old Ben Bulben stood so still
As the aged moon rises in the cold bright north.

'So long Marianne' bid a fond farewell
Yeats had gone, but Cohen too, stood still.
History past and history made, a silent spell
That night had shown both their skill.
