Paint
Written for the November Year 4 topic of "Paint"
Can you imagine a world without paint?
All pictures would be so very faint,
No azure sea's to gaze upon,
Nor brightly dressed palm trees to imagine leaning on,
Oh, what a dull world without paint.
The Sistine Chapel, only in white?
'Twould be so very bright,
No burgundy, crimson or reds etched in gold hues,
or varying degrees of yellow too,
Oh, what a dull world without paint.
A mountain scene all in dark black,
No grassy paths to bring it all back,
Nor sitting amid the luxuriant green,
Not a splattering of pink or purple heather to be seen,
Oh, what a dull world without paint.
But,
The white moon,
In the black sky,
Is the only place where no other colour is needed.
