Country Written for the May Year 3 topic of "Country"

Why go,deserting me who nurtured you?
Why leave my murm'ring burns,my heathered land?
Why do the things you know one day you'll rue?
Why turn your back? I need to understand.

Necessity and Youth prised us apart.
Your Celtic sounds and childhood scenes haunt me.
Sheer Stubbornness, pure Pride o'erpowered my heart.
Deep-delved mem'ries hold the cryptic key.
