Mirror

Has puzzled me for years and now at last
The mirror has revealed its mystery.
On its back a small portrait from the past:
He has the family nose, eyes downcast.
Snowy-bearded man: theologian.
Silver- hair'd and thoughtful, his knowledge vast.
Professor of Church Hist'ry was this man.....
What reflections has it seen since its life began?
