Beginnings Written for the November Year 2 topic of "Monologue"

Out
of me
you arrive
not forced or cut
but voluntarily.
I think that's what
the cry meant on meeting
me, a novice mother
beginning a love that knows no end-
a oneness, an amazement of newness;
a bond that must not be tight but supple;
a help surfacing and submerging when needed;
a huge task to judge and balance.
With your new beginning you will understand.
